The human mind has been an interesting topic of inspection since time
immemorial. Innumerable experiments have been conducted to study it and
draw inferences. But despite it all, mankind is still in search of peace and
happiness.
The human mind is like a child. It is impossible for it to go without creating
thoughts. Instead of forcing it to create zero thoughts or to stop thinking on a
particular topic, the mind needs to be attended to like a child. It needs to be
given reasons so that it understands why a particular kind of thought is
harmful to it. No matter what the situation, we can always adopt the art of
right thinking.
Thoughts are the basic building blocks of an individual’s character. What we
think determines the emotions and feelings we create. Soon they get
converted to words and reflect in our actions. Any action repeated multiple
times becomes our habit and soon our behaviour and eventually our
personality. Thus it is always wise to address the root level to bring outward
transformation.
The quality of information intake through our physical sense organs is
responsible for the kind of thoughts we create. If we listen to gossip or
watch movies portraying anger, deceit etc or eat tamasic food then it casts a
negative shadow on our being. Switching to a satvic lifestyle will
automatically make us feel light and positive from within.
In addition to the above, there is a philosophy of 3P’s that we can easily
practice and apply in every scene of life. The first P stands for personal, the
second P for present and the third P for positive. For example, if one person
is feeling angry, instead of telling “I am angry”, he can say “ I am a peaceful
being “. This will guide the mind to be in the present moment rather than be
stuck in past or future events. It will also lessen the emotion of anger and
emerge the sanskar of peace. Then the same situation can be easily
overcome.
In our everyday life, we face one challenge or the other. But those who
learns to befriend the mind, tackles life with ease and emerge victorious
always.
