Live, Laugh, Love… Second Innings…one more chance to Live.

To give a second chance to life first one must let go of of the past. Past bitter memories must be accepted and left behind only then your journey towards the second innings to live life to the fullest will begin. Let’s try and understand what are the possible ways we can give life a second innings, one more chance to live.

How to Let go of Past to start the second Innings…one more chance to live!

At times we think…We have done so much progress in life… always have fulfilled our family responsibilities and in some sense social responsibilities too… but still feel contented too with our lives. Still at some turning point of life, we feel everyone has taken up their roads and has moved ahead. Some Lost lives and some just went ahead in their life’s journey (children married). We know that this is truth, we are happy about new life’s journey of our loved ones, acceptance is there But still we feel.. what am I left with. I am retired from my Job, companion is no more. Children are busy with their lives, they no more listen to us. At that time, the person usually gets his past memories– pleasant as well as unpleasant ones. A mixed feeling of proud of what I have done in life for others and self as well as the feelings of regret and resentment for what I could have done better.

List of Regrets : That you wish you could have done better in the past!

  • Expressed your gratitude/Thanks to your companion/Partner for small acts of care towards me.
  • Felt and expressed sorry for unnecessarily getting angry and unusual Conduct/ behaviours at times.
  • You didn’t Spend more time with your children when they crave for your attention and you were was busy too much in my work life.
  • Should have been more friendly, kind and considerate with your juniors at work.
  • Resolved your conflict over petty business issue with your best friend.
  • Considered taking more care and fulfilled every wish of you elderly Parents.
  • Could have given more time in taking care of you health and not just in earning money. Live, laugh and cherish the joy of living more.
  • Didn’t help the needy around you and not just spent everything on my own luxuries.
  • Should have done something for society and nation at large as it does so much for everyone.

Do These Things to improve your Life:

At this point of life, one should spend time reflecting only on good and Lovely memories and find ways to heal the emotional regrets by starting a second innings of life reflect on what makes you live, Laugh and Love more. Some points to start with-
  • Start with a pen and paper and write down your areas of interests and expertise.
  • Start using them in little ways for the people around you… neighbors, Friends or some young children in society as a caring and loving human being.
  • Start benefiting others with your life’s experiences. Better join some community ( Group or association)where there are like minded people and use constructive  ways to use your talents for fun and enjoying life by joy and laughter.
  • Do some charity in terms of sharing wisdom with  people about Living values. This way your own blocked feelings of the past will open up.
  • Do something for society/ humanity and nation/Country in terms of appreciating its positive role and goal for human life and start taking its virtues in self and see how can you contribute/offer to them at your level.

Concluding:
